Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file

I found this problem today. When I was checking my computer, I found exe file which is a virus. I have seen this virus before in other computer. Then I checked antivirus installed. It failed when I open it. My suspect is this virus, which change registry or others, blocking my antivirus to launch. I could not open it. Ofcourse I could not check the date of its virus definition.

My action is uninstalling this antivirus and plan to install a new one. Uninstalling succeed. Then I copied a new installer from other pc. Executing the file resulted in an error message : "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". Oops, what happen. I became more suspicious that it is caused by the virus. Then I remove the hard drive from my computer for virus scanning in other pc. There were hundreds of infected files found. "Yeepee! I know that I'll catch you, virus!"

I moved back my hard drive and tried again installing new antivirus. But it failed again with the same error message. "Arrgh". Then I found this link on internet : http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-6230-0.html?forumID=102&threadID=219160&messageID=2215701 I found three solution :

1. Uninstalling IE Enhanced security from Windows component
2. Open file property and unblock its security, which say that the file came from another computer and maybe blocked
3. Put server/host name in Trusted Sites zone of IE

I tried solution no.2 and voila, it work. I don't know whether it is caused by virus or not, but now my computer is safe with uptodate antivirus installed.
